Let’s talk about food.

Ready, steady, drool.

Food love.

My first love is food so I couldn’t do a retreat and not have food as a main event.

Food is a celebration in itself and so when I am served up a boring, bland and beige platter I cry inside; it is such a wasted opportunity for happiness.

I love eating of course, but for me the real kick is in the creation of crazy delicious food. And what is food without people to share it with; to revel in very the sublimeness of it all?

Food style.

I love Yotam Ottolenghi and Anna Jones style food so you can expect fresh, vibrant, lip smacking dishes with a Middle Eastern, summer vibe.

It is all about the quality of ingredients and using what is in season. Locally sourced, soul nourishing plants will be the stars of the show, to which we will introduce some beguiling flavour combinations and finish with some sexy texture.

Well seasoned, well balanced — moorish food and plenty of it.

Food menu.

All dietary requirements can be catered for but the food will be vegetarian and delicious unless requested otherwise.

There will be a breakfast feast buffet including home made granolas, bread from Wild Hearth bakery, yoghurt, fruit, lightly forked avo, very good coffee, wanky milk, etc.

Lunch will be a medley of sumptuous salad platters and mezze style dishes, which can be eaten on location or made into a pack lunch for you.

Dinner will be something hearty and intriguing with a cheeky wee dessert and a drink or two.

Plenty of tasty snacks to keep you going and always good coffee and other refreshing drinks, whenever you want them.

That location though…

Located in a secret Glen in the idyllic Perthshire countryside the Burmieston Steading provides us with a dreamy courtyard to centre our weekend of movement and food around.

All group activities and classes and meals will be outside in the fields or under the covered of the area in the courtyard. Wind in your hair and hopefully sun on your skin.

Imagine a sun kissed coffee wake up and nutritious morning flow followed by an al fresco breakfast feast. Or enjoying some fire side jovialities — drink in hand — on a balmy mid summer night.

Burmieston is an eco Steading conversion

It has been lovingly restored by the owners retaining as much of the original features as possible.

The spaces they have created are gorgeous, bright and full of character.

It is located on the grounds of their neighbouring small holding.

Local beauty

The surrounding countryside offers plenty of opportunity for leisurely walks or swims.

Little Glenshee offers a 30 minute walk up the hill where you will find Loch Mullion at the top.

The lovely Loch Tullybelton is an 1 hour walk from Burmieston.

The river Almond has an amazing swimming spot 10 minutes drive away. I have personally vetted it — watrefalls, pools, jumping off spots and plenty of space to lounge around in the sun.

Perthshire is a road bikers heaven, quiet winding roads with the odd tractor. Why not bring your bike or even cycle all the way there!?

Crieff, Dunkeld and Scone are about 30mins drive away where you can potter around a cute town, Cathedral or Palace respectively.

And so to bed…

The accomodation comprises 4 bedrooms all with en-suites.

One tricky aspect is that the accommodation will have to be booked as full rooms because of the current COVID regulations.

This means you may need to find friends or lovers to bring with you.

Payments can be made in full or spread into direct debit payments. Each individual can have their own payment plan.

Depending when you book the payments can be split into 3 or 4 payments.
